André Boehman

Professor of Mechanical Engineering

Associate Director, Automotive Research Center. Director, W.E. Lay Automotive Laboratory. Professor of Mechanical Engineering, University of Michigan. Previously, Professor of Fuel Science, Materials Science and Engineering and Mechanical Engineering in the Department of Energy & Mineral Engineering in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences at the Pennsylvania State University; Ph.D. Stanford University and postdoc researcher at SRI International. Research interests include fuel production and formulation, alternative fuels, diesel combustion, spark ignition combustion, autoignition, spray behavior, particulate emissions, NOx emissions, emissions control, thermodynamics of energy conversion systems. Recipient of the 2009 John Johnson Award for Outstanding Diesel Engine Research and the 2009 Arch Colwell Award from the Society of Automotive Engineers. Former Editor in Chief for Fuel Processing Technology. Presently an Associate Editor for Energy & Fuels. Society of Automotive Engineers Fellow. American Chemical Society Fellow (2019).
